29inch is roughly 700c.
They say it needs a slick tyre because cross bikes and 29er MTB use knobbly tyres (so these need to get a spare trainer tyre).

If you’re running a road tyre you will be fine although some people buy specific turbo tyres (Tacx do a nice one) to reduce damage to their nicer road tyres and they produce less noise.

I personally just use my spare OEM brand wheels with the stock tyre on the turbo – less miles on my nicer wheels and keep my tyres for longer.
