Hello from London
Hello newbie here just thought i would sign up pick your brains for information and also share my exercise experience. so i am a Thai boxer and was weighing in at 18.5st 116kg 9months ago and had to get my weight down cos im only 5.9ft tall and everyone i was fighting at super heavy weight was just so much taller than me, and had a huge reach advantage. i was smaller before but had a head injury that lasted just over a year and was told by my doctor not to get hit in the head until they knew exactly what the problem was, well needless to say that was all sorted 9 months ago and i got back training and fighting here are some pictures of my weight loss over the last 9 months from 116kg to 85kg or 18.5st to 13.3st
thats 9 months ago and here are a few from two weeks agoso there you have it my transformation so far im a long way from happy but its a start and i have worked very hard to get to where i am ow and i won a gold medal at 92kg so it seems to be helping my boxing a hole lot
Congrats on being able to box again. I wasn’t as lucky but I can still train so better than some.
None of us are ever fully happy. That’s what keeps us going.
Good stuff so far and welcome. If you think you can, or if you think you can’t, you’re probably right – Henry Ford
sorry to hear that, during that time i could not go even normal gym my head achs everyday where so bad made me dizzy and feel sick and you know how it go’s a few months of that then the motivation dies and you give up hope. mine turned out to be a trapped nerv in my neck altho i had no pain in my neck all the pain was in my head ended up just changing my posture and doing some shrugs with no weight but my arms and after a few weeks the pain went away but cos the of the pain being in my head and the issue in my neck it took just over a year for the doctors to find the problem
Mine was trauma, head encountered Tarmac at around 25 to 30 mph.
When I asked about training after op to remove blood clot between skull and brain, boxing was a definite no, suspicion of good punch being fatal.
Looks like mobility and stretching that will be part of training will have you well sorted. If you think you can, or if you think you can’t, you’re probably right – Henry Ford
Not at all. Really bad news with head injuries. Tired, then unconscious, comatose, operated on, high dependency, woke with no memory, then recovered most of it.
It is why wife hate muppets driving on phones though she was aware throughout my hospital time, including when I didn’t know who she was.If you think you can, or if you think you can’t, you’re probably right – Henry Ford
