Katherine Isacks’ Reasons for Being (Pt. 2 of 4)
Kamala Appel: So you mentioned some mobile apps, what apps do you use that you recommend?
Katherine Isacks: Well there are a lot of good apps out there and I’ll just say right off the bat I’m biased because I consult with MyNetDiary (diet app for iPhone, Android, BlackBerry® and iPad)…
Kamala Appel: MyNetDiary?
Katherine Isacks: MyNetDiary and I love my iPod app, some people use the iPhone and they also have the iPad, I also have a Droid and I use the web. So I use all of those and MyNetDiary is always constantly synced so it doesn’t if I’m in the kitchen or the bedroom or wherever. I can always enter so I have no excuse for not tracking and keep staying on top of what I’m doing. MyNetDiary is one of a number, I like MyNetDiary for simple reason I consult with them so I know a lot about the program and the system and how it works. They use valid equations from the Institute of Medicine, Dietary Reference Intake, etc. But there’s some others as well that are out there and I think what people need to do is when they go to their App store, find out what users recommend and what is ranking really high for their market for their phone. So that’s another good way to do it and then something, if it appeals to you, great. I mean for me the visuals are important; I like certain colors, I like it to look a certain way, and the fonts needs to be large enough and it just how it feels. I can tell you I think MyNetDiary is great, but I think that folks just should figure out what works best for them.
